How to make Italian espresso
It's really easy to walk to any coffee shop in Vancouver and order some coffee. I don't personally order espresso at coffee shops because it's so easy (and cheaper, and tastier!) to make it at home.
All you need to make an Italian style coffee is a Moka pot.

Pictured here are the Moka pot parts. The funnel-shaped filter is where you place the ground coffee beans and it gets inserted into the base of the pot.

Here are the easy steps to make a perfect Italian brew:
Fill the base with water just below the valve.
Insert the funnel filter and fill it with ground coffee with the help of a spoon. Do not overfill it, and do not pack it down. The coffee grounds need to be loose in the filter for the water to pass through. If you have time, I would suggest you grind your coffee beans at the moment.
Screw the top section to the base and place the Moka pot on the stove. Close the lid. If you have an electric stove, heat up the Moka on medium high heat. If you have a gas stove keep it on low medium heat.
When you hear a gurgling sound the coffee is ready!
Last, but definitely not least, when you are done enjoying your coffee you should rinse your Moka pot. Do not use dish soap, as it will have an adverse reaction with the aluminium and your future coffees will taste badly. Discard the ground coffee in your compost bin and rise every part of the pot with hot water.
Tips:
If it smells like burning, it means that the water temperature was too high, past boiling point.
The temperature of the burner may vary depending on your stove. You will find the correct burner temperature for your stove after a couple of tries. If the coffee is pouring out of the spout, lower the temperature of the burner.
And of course, any leftover coffee that you might have, could be used to make Tiramisu!!! :)
